your money is safe
with cashbff.
CashBFF is a remote MCP server that connects your bank to Claude through Plaid. It is designed to be careful with your money and your data, and this page explains exactly how it protects you.
how your bank connects.
CashBFF reaches your accounts through Plaid, the bank-connection service trusted by apps like Venmo, Robinhood, and Chime. Plaid handles the bank login directly, so your banking username and password stay between you, your bank, and Plaid. CashBFF receives a secure access token from Plaid and uses it to read your financial picture.
how your data is protected.
- Encryption at rest
- Your Plaid access tokens are stored with AES-256-GCM encryption.
- In transit
- All traffic runs over HTTPS.
- Single source
- Your financial data comes from Plaid, and Plaid alone.
- Account numbers
- CashBFF works from the last four digits of an account, and full account and routing numbers stay private.
read-first by design.
By default, CashBFF reads your money and reports back. It sees your balances, transactions, recurring expenses, scheduled forecasts, and the last four digits of an account, which is everything Claude needs to answer questions like how much you have or whether you can afford something. Your money stays exactly where it is.
you approve every change.
Write actions stay turned off until you choose to enable them. When they are on, every change starts as a preview that you confirm first, and edits apply to entries you created yourself, such as a goal, a note, or a forecast.
how you sign in.
You connect CashBFF inside Claude through an OAuth consent screen. Claude completes the handshake and keeps a session for you, so the connection is clear, scoped, and yours to manage. Access uses a session token rather than any password you type.
you stay in control.
You can remove CashBFF from Claude's connectors whenever you like, which ends its access. For how your data is collected, used, and retained, see our privacy policy.
